Which I was referring to in your orginal post (above)....so a Boss 302 is on par, maybe a tad slower, with a Challenger 392 (12.2x) in the 1/4 and faster than the 5.0 or GT which runs a best of 12.7. Which I have seen personally and he still had temp tags on it and this was a couple of months after the 5.0 was on the street.


I thought it people understood the Mustang GT as the 5.0 now and the Boss 302 as well.....Boss 302.
All very good points.

Ain't it grand to have so many decent options these days? It's good to be a car guy lately.

I love the guys that called me out because I drive a 328...in highschool I had a ls1 and I ate lil ponies all day even cobras if the driver was bad

Yeah.

Also, the driver had to be bad for you to beat a Cobra with your LS1? I'm not sure congratulations are in order for that. Not exactly a monumental feat. Those LS1 cars were beasts.

This thread was a "Thank you" thread from the OP in the non-BMW discussion section where it belongs; nobody jammed a Mustang down anyone's throat.... It's not even a "Kill" or "Race" story. Despite all that, it is STILL littered with ignorant fanboy crap. You can tell people all you want that this attitude is reciprocated elsewhere, but it seems the guys on those sites are more interested in fast cars while also having a preference. Sure, you get the fanboi vibe every once in a while, but go spend some time on SVTPerformance and tell me with a straight face that the ignorance is anywhere near the level it is here.... It's not, not by a long shot. I was really taken aback by a couple recent threads there where the N54 and M3 came up in discussion, and people wanted to know more about it, how to get power, what mods make how much power, what sort of upgrades were in development, etc... They didn't go on and on about the cost of entry, HPFPs, douchey BMW owners, etc... They talk cars over there.

...and "5.slow"?? Are you f'n kidding me? Slow compared to what? Not a 328. Not a 335. Not an M3. Most certainly NOT any of the Hemi vehicles (even the 392). ZR-1 yeah. GT-R yeah. etc...
I am going to guess most of that was not aimed at me.

Indeed. Everyone is making the sports car faster and more competitive. When I was looking at the Camaro/5.0/135i the Boss had just came out and all around me the dealerships were marking them up. That's what I would have right now but they wanted to mark them up so I got the 1er. I know I could have went out of state and got one but I don't like waiting.....hell, I had to wait 4 days for my car to be transferred from one dealer to another and they were only 2 hrs apart!

I certainly am not liking the prices though! The price for a 6.4l equipped Charger(still no manual)/Challenger/300/Jeep is ridiculous! If I'm spending $60k+ on a SRT-8 Jeep I might as well spend the extra and get the CTS-V Sports Wagon!

Did you know there is a $10k price jump to the SRT-8 for the Challengers and I believe the Charger? WTF?

I still can't wait for the GT500 to come out. It won't be in the average joe hand's until late June but it will be with the magazine people in May probably.....maybe sooner.......

So im not right when I say the 6.4 hemi is faster then the 5.0? I actually like OPs car like I said in my first post how am I considered a fanboi exactly?

+1 they're totally different but the 2013 mustang-body lineup looks great IMO. 650hp through a LSD will be insane fun. I think you'll be done with it after 6 months on account of a revoked license more than anything!

That said, even if I got out of BMW's, I'd still visit this site, it's the most developed car forum I've ever seen!
