2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2012 Porsche 911
Evo Magazine 2012 Nissan GT-R Vs 2012 Porsche 911: Who Wins? The new 911 is faster than any plain Carrera S to come before it. Now Tiff Needel at Evo Magazine wants to know if the Porsche can finally beat its supercar-killing rival — the recently-updated 2012 Nissan GT-R. Tiff unsurprisingly prefers the manual, naturally-aspirated, rear-wheel-drive Porsche, but it's still nowhere near fast enough to beat the turbo'd Nissan around Bedford Autodrome. Now we just have to wait for the next GT3 to come out and we can start the dance all over again. http://jalopnik.com/5897052/2012-nis...e-911-who-wins I freaking LOVE the sound that the 911 makes!

Pretty impressive. Only a 2 second difference.
It is remarkable what Porsche was able to do, meaning, getting the standard 911 so much better than all other previous gens. |

I think the 911 would be much more rewarding to drive and just have a much more connected feel. It also sounds better and looks better than the GTR. The GTR winning this test was a no brainier. However, once the new 911 Turbo/Turbo S comes out, I'm pretty sure the GTR will be left in the dust.

in fact, i would take a gt3 over both cars, and im sure that 911s is more than the gt3 after the options. My dad had a porsche, you can easily go up to 30-40k in options

I am pretty sure the GT-R is a faster car and a better performer in his comparison, but I will always go with a 911 Carrera.

It's a price/performance thing- you still pay less for the GT-R. Kind of a no brainer comparo of two stock cars, don't know what's so dumb about it. The new 911 will be just great- but dial up the boost on the GT-R for under $1k and the game changes.
