Wounded Warrior Racing at PVGP
Thought some of you might enjoy seeing this…
A buddy of mine, vintage racer Dave Thomas, put together a race car (former Huffaker SCCA AH Sprite) for a Marine wounded in Afghanistan. This Marine, Sgt. Liam Dwyer, is truly inspirational—despite some 30 surgeries (with more to go), losing a leg, needing a total knee replacement and muscle/tendon grafts on the other, and having limited function in one arm, the guy is positive in outlook, determined in action, and strong in spirit. I guess that’s what we should expect of a Marine. Anyway, here’s footage from the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Group 2 (Small Bore Production) feature race from a couple Sundays ago.
