More fun driving times in British Columbia! This time with Porsches!

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...ea-to-sky.html

FYI: If you are caught going 40+ kph (~25mph) over the posted speed limit in BC, the police officer has the authority to impound your vehicle for 7 days......

I just drove the Sea to Sky highway last week in our VW and that road deserves a 100kph limit the whole way. 80kph is insanely slow and the road limit tops out at only 90kph. We were doing 80mph in our tuned Tiguan. Those Porsches were pulled over for the money, not the safety.

I was going to drive my M up there in September but this might make me change my mind.

In CA, 20mph over can legally land you in jail.

True, but I've found cops and judges pretty lenient about this. You'll get a nice ticket, but jail time is unlikely.

There is a reason why Vancouver has the highest gas price in north America because they want you to drive only smart car, Prius c, and anything that's slow lol. The Porsche group was much bigger than 4. It was one of PCA regional summer events. IMO that was very different than a bunch of teens with their super cars going over 200km/h.

I know eh? Also people don't realize the traffic differences between Canada and US. In Canada you be amazed if you seee more than 2 cars on a road trip... Thus it is really easy to speed here. However I was recently in California and I found it very uncomfortable to go 10+ over the speed limit (of other cars) since there are so many cars on the road.

I got 27 over in a 45 while down at school (VT) and the judge suspended my license for a month. And it was my first ticket ever. They don't joke around in VA...

In their defense that road is fantastic. If I lived in Van. i'd be having lunch at the Village every weekend just for a chance to drive it.

In SoCal, nearly everyone drives 130 kph on the freeway when the speed limit is 105 kph. It's very easy to speed when EVERYONE is doing it. It's dangerous NOT to speed here.

I was just in North Dakota (similar to Canada maybe) where there aren't many cars on the road. I found it hard to speed because there weren't many other cars to "mask" my speeding and cops have nothing better to do.
