holy crap this changes whether I want to keep my car or not, well maybe if it was atleast a 1000 less...

how hard is it for a company to imitate this sound? Are their custom exhaust shops would can custom build you a similar sounding exhaust just buy hearing one?

doubt it, it's all about the technology or the design of what is inside the muffler.

and yeah they won't tell what manufacturer made the muffler.. people are guessing either tanabe or fame. no one has tested yet though

the bends are (as far as i know) also to do with the unequal length stock headers, which making everything equal would, yes, TOTALLY change the sound, smooth it out .. would also help with performance, having the exhaust pulses not clashing.

ED: if this fits on the 3 series just the same as it does on the 1 series (considering it seems pretty heavily geared towards the 130i in particular) that means that the 1 and 3 series have same exhaust pipe lengths/axle back sections! that's pretty cool news imo

Tanabe makes pretty bad stuff... I am guessing it is FAME.

Tanabe freiheit does have a similar sound still

Can definitely replicate - all depends what material is the muffling stuff. The volume is because the muffler is short

Wow... I haven't heard anything close to that nice of a sound for the N52... Pretty expensive (putting it down all at once) rather than buying it piece by piece over time (probably costs more in the long run)

It's too bad that the value of our cars continues to depreciate with time but never the aftermarket parts!

I can't believe you are comparing, a resonator pipe and adjustable tips to an exhaust SYSTEM.

I just cant get over how good this system sounds it makes me not sleep at night lol. In reality what am I probably going to do? Get the AA system for over $2000 less drive the car for 2-3 years and get rid of it lol But we all can dream right?

I can't get over how good it sounds too, it seems like Laptorr nailed it down. I haven't heard anything better on the market.

The AA exhaust doesn't please me one bit. Seems like someone with an idea thought about taking muffler delete to the next level. Adding a resonator tube and putting fancy adjustable tips on it... Then the fans go "Ooooooo N52 Signature Exhaust" you call that an exhaust? It's a pipe with a resonator tube welded to it. If you think that could "increase HP" then BMW should stop engineering cars. Last but not least a savings of 18 pounds would basically put the car off of it's 50/50 weight distribution.

I'm not saying the Lapptor exhaust is cheap, if it came out a few years back I wouldn't mind spending that kind of money on an exhaust. But now my car is getting quite old so I am just fine with the stock one.

I agree with everything u said 110%. It is a shame that they have priced it so far out of what most would spend. I also agree with the AA statement too. It's not an exhaust system but more or less the AA pipe lol. I like it for build quality MD sound with no drone. I'm going to have to hear more then 1 video of it before I commit tho.

A fair price IMO opinion would be somewhere around 1200-1500. The BMW PE retails at the dealer for what 1299? I know u can find it for less but I think that's the general retail at most part counters. The PE is a 2 piece system like this one. So that's kinda what I'm basing my price on. If it were in that area without question it would be on my car. But 3k? Ehhhh maybe if I get a really nice holiday bonus lol
