I dont understand why on earth the front&rear bumpers on the 4 SE have been made to look so much more modern, exotic and meaner than the 4 msport or the m4 mule.. It makes the 'sporty' models look dated.

Most BMW concepts stay surprisingly unchanged through to production except stance and wheels, I can't see the same happening with this one.

I don't think he was saying that a sporty version of a sedan, i.e. a gran coupe shouldn't exist, but rather that it didn't make sense from a branding/badging point of view. When the even numbered series all start making gran coupes, what will differentiate them from the odd numbered sedans aside from slight design adjustments? I think the concern may have been more so how this works from a production or marketing standpoint and less how well it sells.

Are those M6 GC rims also available for M6 Coupe, Convertible or will it only be available as a individual option?

We are used to seeing our coupes based on the sedan. BMW wants the even numbered series to be a stand alone model and not just a coupe version of the odd numbered sedans. The grand coupes will have influences from the even numbered series. I think its brilliant and totally necessary with the popularity of the category.

Still not sure how I feel about the front bumper. I'd like to see some interior pics as well.

hey man...
i wasn't too keen on the idea when Audi brought out their A7 a few years ago but i think the whole idea is catching on.

also...if you've not had a chance to drive the GC, you need do. the 650GC is an AMAZINGLY balanced vehicle and it feels like you're on rails. In a lot of ways it reminds me of the e60 550.

Gran Coupe with four doors is like having a Mini Sedan with two doors, I don't get the point.

It's "sleeker" bla bla.

Love the new 4 series. I'm torn between a 440i or the diesel iteration coming (allegedly). Also what's the new M4 going to look like? Really excited to see this car in production and in person later this year!!

Probably the other way around given that 4 series has been out for a month or so and merc has came out just few days ago.

My point is, why buy an M7 or even make one? If you're just going to create the even series with 4 doors and call them "Gran Coupes" what's the point of making a less sexy sedan that has the same number of doors?

Indeed, and I bet the production 4 series will look much more " normal" than this concept version.

the word coupe doesn't necessarily only refer to a car with 2 doors. it has more to do with the shape and the roofline.

the 6 GC is the same shape as the coupe just with two extra doors instead of being a "sleeker" four door.

The 4 is an amazing looking concept....unfortunately all those blings wont trickle into the production model. This is something that always bothered me.The concepts /3rd party concept sketches look much better than the production models.

Why does the M6 GranCoupe not have a rear spoiler?

It seems like an odd omission since the M6 Coupe and M5 both have rear spoilers.

Yeah, there is a long list of features on this car that are not on the production model.

Not sure the thinking behind revealing a concept. It leads to a let down for the production version. Doesn't matter what car you are talking about, they never live up to the concept.
