Thats remarkable! Cooking oil to cool the PC instead of the conventional fans.

That is the dumbest, most stupidest thing since spandex tights. Get a Mac Mini, it basically has passive cooling without any noise...the fans come on when it's really necessary. This oil thing is so damn impratical (like cooling your CPU w/ liquid nitrogen) its almost funny. Clever engineers will always take the least complicated route -- not the most.

Hey I think at least they should get an "E" for effort I've got to give them credit for trying, although this is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen! But I guess we need people like this...who sort of think outside the box, so to speak |

Lol, you guys take this stuff to seriously. It's not like they're marketing it or anything. It's just a fun DIY to see if it can be done. The site is geared twords computer enthusiasts, not people who go out and buy a computer off the shelf. The ones that modify thier cars, er, I mean computers to their personal taste and do stuff like this just cause it's fun.

I agree with Ghunger, it's a fun project for enthusiasts. They find their joy out of overclocking every component in their PC and gain satisfaction this way. Same thing goes to people who tweak their car to best performance and looks.

Well, when it gets really hot, you can chuck some french fries and dim sims in there and have dinner.
I would say get a Mac. The Mac Intels will all be silent, proving that a PC doesn't have to sound like a hoover... While we are on kitchen matters, just make a cable exit from your fridge, get power installed inside it and stick your PC in there. Cooling and noise problems solved in one, and you will have an internet fridge without the cost...
