Maserati to Offer Diesel Ghibli Sedan

Maserati announced its first diesel automobile, the Ghibli. The car will debut at the Shanghai auto show next week.

Buyers will have a choice of a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel (the same VM Motori diesel engine that is available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee in Europe as well as the Nacia Thema), or a 3.0-liter V6 petrol variant. Both will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission....

i do too. However, I think it's going to be 70-95k for this car. They are saying it's a E-class / 5 series competition. Looking at how the Quattroporte is priced, i would say it's roughly 20-25% more than the competition. I do love the look and the diesel engine, but hope it's not priced out of market.

That seems like a mistake, given that the A6, E and 5 should all have diesel options by the time the Mazzer arrives. Of course logic and Italians rarely intersect.
