Missing Factory Supplied Option/Part

My new 2014 BMW X1 is missing the switch to turn on the heated steering wheel. It may also be missing the heated steering wheel capabilities as well (not sure). Has anyone run across an example where a factory supplied option/part is missing. BMW has offered a couple of hundred dollars in compensation. What do you think?

Thanks for your comments.

Being a newbie myself I may not have this right, but, if it was supposed to have the heated wheel and doesn't are there other things in that package that is missing? Mine was part of the Winter package and also had heated seats and headlight cleaner. If they are also missing, you're missing the entire package which costs $700.

If they built you the wrong car, methinks you should have them go back and build you the right one. You're paying for service, not just the option.

Okay so this is whats called a "misbuild" from the plant in which your car was produced. When this happens and the car makes it past tech inspection to the dealer, the dealer is not at all liable for the vehicle's issue. Which makes me wonder why the dealer offered you money as compensation rather than this being a warranty claim and no cost to them, because it is a warranty issue. BMW should work with you to properly retrofit the car or replace it with one that is built to the proper specification, depending on the extent of the problem. This is a common practice across all brands.

One thing to note. M sport package deletes the heated wheel even if you have the cold weather option.
