I need a laptop to load the JB4 interface and the open source program on.
Terry says windows 7 may work best as he's not too sure about windows 8
Id prefer for it to be a smaller screen so its easier to use in a car.
Itll stay in the car so I can log all the time.

Right now Im using my 17" HP laptop and its a pain to pull into my lap and mess around with.

I found an acer for $199 but its windows 8

You can try and find a small Netbook with Win7 that has decent processing power/RAM. HD space shouldn't be too needed.

Look on Tigerdirect or Newegg, usually I found good deals on them. Sometimes a refurbished laptop will suit your needs at a good price as well.

No USB, is that what the BT tool that lll need for the open flash to plug in to? I forget

It might make more sense to get an external drive for those few instances where you'll need one. Otherwise, a dvd drive rules out most netbooks. You'll need a full laptop. It will cost more and take up space for something that you probably won't use all that often.

That's a good idea, I don't think Ill need one but Id hate to get a notebook and then one day something come out that requires us to install a cd lol
