Difference between 318i and 320i

Hey
I got my 2008 BMW 318i last year. It's very nice to drive and everyone loves the montego blau color. Just a bit disappointed while travelling over a steep hill and wasn't accellerating as expected or more like hoped.
Was wondering what's the difference between the 318i and the 320i. I saw where someone said the 318i has 1.8L engine but mine is 2.0L like the 320i.
Anyone can say what the difference is?

They are both 2.0 litre engines and are essentially the same unit but with a few changes to the ECU programming / manifold etc to lower the horsepower on the 318i

How to improve horsepower

Hi
What can I do to improve the horsepower in the 318i since it's teh same as the 320i? As indicated above, they have modified the ECU programming / manifold etc to lower the horsepower on the 318i.

Is there anything I can do to restore the natural power?

Thanks for your advice

ive got a 320i and the power difference is sadly a great one. look in the back of the owners manual and you will see the specs. Im going off the 0-100 specs... but in the end, they both are sadly slow.

throw a K&N 57i Gen 2 air intake, it makes an EPIC difference. i put one in my 320 and its only more and more smiles.... post some pics of your car wen u get a chance

Wouldn't upgrading these engines be a waste of time and money? It'd be like up grading honda fit.

I have a e90 318i and had heard that the only differences between the 318i and 320i engines are the inlet manifold and different settings in the ecu. Is this correct?

Is it possible to put a 320i inlet onto a 318i and remap the ecu to increase the BHP. the 318i is 143bhp and the 320i is 170bhp so this would be a big gain if its true.
