When you look at the percent increase in BMW sales in the US compared to Audi and Mercedes it isn't good.

Maybe it is because BMW has changed its vision to luxury and efficiency (As per BMW themselves) instead of the sportiness of their cars. The luxury/efficiency market has been around for a while, and is well maintained by Merc and Audi. The sportiness is what set BMW apart, and now, that lower priority gives them a lower percentage of the market.

My bet is for the US, somewhere in the Southeast. Worldwide studies show the total cost of manufacturing in the US is relatively low. Wages are not the entire picture.

The quality will stay the same. Equipment is the same, training is the same. Yet another factory added to the US export market. I don't see any negatives in this.
And my guess that it will be in Southern Texas (Houston would be the optimal choice due to the port proximity).

They would build engines for the X3 , X4 , X5 and X6 and maybe the X7 if the don't build it in Dingolfing ?
Today ground was broken on the new manufacturing facility in Brazil which will build and export MINI , BMW 1er and BMW X1 models aswell as the 3er for South America. The new engine plant could also supply the BMW manufacturing facility in Brazil also.
