copy of title

Hi there. I'm selling my 335 and everyone wants me to send them a copy of my title for lending reasons. My question and concern being how wrong can this go sending someone a copy of my title? I was going to email it directly to their lender. Couldn't they even at that level still get ahold of the copy and make a fake? ie go apply for a loan, bank says they need a copy, I send the copy to bank, they ask bank to get a copy of all documents.

All they need is the year, make, model, vin and current mileage and you're fine. If they want it as proof snap a picture covering up any personal info until you see funds.

Once it's funded they would need the title, but I don't see any reason why they would need it prior to any funds being issued to the seller.

Yea, I agree. The VIN should be all you should give to any potential buyer.

You can send the bank a picture of your name on the title covering up address etc and also proof of insurance. Should be enough. If you're in discussions with the buyer hopefully you can get a good sense of their character and know whether they are wasting your time. Good luck sir!
