Another thing that's hurting sales of this car is GM's refusal to market it at all, whatsoever, except in NASCAR. They're only trying to move 3500/yr but still when it doesn't even make a cameo in any of your commercials, something is very wrong. It's supposed to be a semi-halo car of sorts, dealers are obviously treating it that way, so why isn't it presented that way to prospective buyers? Very interesting. Agreed. Fuck em! |

So I pulled the trigger yesterday! Ended up with a 2011 550i CPO.
Did the deal over the phone and drove a one way rental to Miami to take delivery. Jet Black on black with bamboo anthracite trim. Sport package, convenience package, premium 2 package. 1 owner, 28k miles Oh.....and did I mention it has a Dinan Stage 2 tune? Great news is my rotiform wheels will fit so I can keep em. I had them throw in some new all weather mats and black grills to close the deal.

It's luxurious and it's an absolute torque monster. Plus, if you tune it, you can easily achieve well over 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Even after driving my C63, my E550 still feels like an animal, particularly from a dig.

Thanks for catching that. I have edited accordingly.
I meant the 550i (xDrive variant). Surprisingly, the E550 4MATIC is only about 250-300 lbs heavier than the 535i. Car and Driver has the non-xDrive 550i weighing in at 4417 lbs (auto). The 4MATIC E550 weighed in at 4411 lbs (auto); 0-60 in 4.3 sec.

You raced someone with fake badges. It was probably an E350 (NA V6). A Eurocharged Stage 2 E550 puts down 502 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. What are the numbers/gains for the Dinan Stage 2 Tune?

Well it was a little older body style for sure maybe 2009 ish, pretty sure it was an E class body but it is entirely possible it was an S or a rebadged car......because it was slightly ghetto looking. It was a gold color with some flat black plasti dip looking design on the roof, back, and trunk if that gives you an idea. Not too mention we have people putting Mercedes grills on Nissan Altimas around here so i dont put anything past anyone. As far as Dinan stage 2 numbers, 494 HP and 579 tq

Nice kill. Those are very robust gains! You made an outstanding decision going with Dinan (in my humble opinion). Years ago, I had plenty of Stage 2 goodies on both of my E90 335i sedans. I was always thrilled with the quality of Dinan's parts. They live up to their warranty promise, too!
