Still deciding. Leaning towards 3-series for space and comfort...

I don't know!

Bro isnt a 335 sedan only $4000 more? If you want a sedan, why not go for that?

$6,500.

I'll have to wait until the day I go to the dealers.

Why did you start a new poll? I thought I just voted on this last week?

You must really be struggling with this decision.

Well wait a lil bit, save up more money and then do it. Dont get something youre going to regret a month later.

I know... But... I'm splitting the car (money wise) with my parents, and my dad kind of doesn't want me to have 300 horsepower... And if I try and save $40,000 by myself it'll be a few more years at least.

Ah ok. Well then I guess you dont really have much choice in the matter. If he says no to the 335 then thats one thing. If he says he really doesnt want you to have a 335, thats something else. Its your job to get him to say yes.

Well...

I'm getting a car when I'm 16. He think I am inexperienced, which might be true but that's like saying "You suck" in my mind. I really have no way of proving to him that I am a responsible and good driver.

He said no 335 because it's too fast and I'll get in trouble (Accident, tickets, etc.) so I was thinking about a 135... He said no to that because it's even lighter and smaller.

So, I'm looking at a 328 because it's a great car. Do companies make turbos or superchargers for 328's?

--

To answer your question he said no to 335's, but I'm trying to persuade him to get me one... Not working.

Whoa you're only 16? Yep, get a 328. You'd be asking for trouble if you got a 135 or 335.

Supercharger? No. 3-4 years from now, they'll probably be one available.

You really seemed to like the 135 based on your other threads....but based on the info you gave us above I actually think a 128 would work out great for you.

Not trying to compare you to my wife but she now wants a 128 instead of a Mini Cooper S.

I really like the 135 and got a chance to see it up close and personal last weekend. However since I am married and thinking about kids I have to balance my "track fun" with family so I'm sticking with my e92 335i. If I could get a second one I'd go for the 135 in a minute!

Even a 328i is more HP than a new driver should have..

Listen, if it's your first car I seriously suggest you DON'T get a 335i. If it were any other situation, I'd be all for it, but it really is not a good idea. Trust me. I had a Civic for my first car (it had a decent 140hp @ about redline lol...torque...what torque). I was seriously one of the most responsible drivers between my friends. However, speed can be addicting if you give it a try, and once I opened the taps on my Civic I was going 125 (that's as high as I've taken that thing...I was impressed) and I figured out that I reeeeally had to stop.

It's just not a good idea to have about ~320hp in your first car. You think you're not gonna get carried away, but it's just too easy to succumb to the power. I'm gonna stop repeating myself now and move on .

I suggest you get a 328i (or a 128i, but it's kinda low on space, but you already know enough about that car, no need in telling you). It's FAR more than adequate in terms of power. What is it, like six some-odd seconds to sixty? That's plenty of power, plus you'll get the looks of the car, and the safety and all that jazz.

I would have loved to have had a Bimmer for my first car, and my parents even offered me one. My dad actually argued with my mom that the 325i was well within the budget and that if they could easily pay for one then why not. My mom said it wasn't a wise choice to have a Bimmer for a first car and I agreed. My mom was actually surprised considering how much I talked about it haha.

Completly agree! My first car was an S-10 Blazer and I still managed to get enough tickets that ir I got one more they'd take my license. I had to spend the next 2 years driving the speed limit or below so that I could make sure I didn't get any more tickets!

Then I moved to e36 325i That was MUCH more fun! The problem with having a nice car and being young is that you might not get pulled over right away because you have a nicer car but once you do there is NO WAY you're talking your way out of it "rich kid"!

Not only is the 335 too much power for a 16 year old, but don't waste the money on a new car. Odds are, within the first year, you'll get in a few fender benders.
Pick up a used E46 (not an M3).

That just makes me want to prove you wrong; and I looked at E46 330ci's, they ran for like $2000 less than E90 328's. I was looking at a beautiful Black on Black 330Ci with ZHP Sport Package, Carbon Fiber Trim, Manual Gearbox, and light engine mods, with some nice 19" rims... Was a few grand more than an E90, haha.

I decided to take my dad's Mercedes and get a E90 335i or M3 when I'm around 20.

You can want to prove me wrong all you want; and hey, I hope you do.
But the reality is your car will get banged up. Either by your actions, or those of others. High-school and college parking lots are hell for cars.

Holy shyte how true it that! HS parking lots have no mercy. Neither do your friends who love to thrash each others cars.
