There is a bit more to the story - the news articles all said the nurse worked for Doctors Without Borders, but she also works for the CDC - she is an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. And her lawyer is a far left progressive, and a recent visitor to the White House:

I approve of the case by case, because there is SOME irrationality out there. Case in point: a local church group is heading to EAST Africa for their semi-annual mission, and taking school supplies yatta yadda yeti. There is a group of locals who obviously have no sense of geography, and want this group quarantined upon return. Yes, they will be on the African continent, but it will be about 2000 miles from any hot country. They aren't there to treat the sick.
