interesting, with the amount of cars that toyota have recalled recently, looks like they have really let their guard down quality wise.... |

I would say lexus quality has been decreasing in the past two years or so. I mean the interior of an IS is just horrible, its just endless of low quality plastic everywhere. And please look at the lexus gear leaver on their automatic models. I mean its silver and chromed but god does it look low quality its not even leather rapped even on the LS models. I mean whats the point of lexus if they are no longer well made since its good at almost nothing else. It can not outperform German cars. It can not out ride a German car and it is not as cheap as an American car. So maybe the japs should just go home and eat sum of their own sushi!!

ya well, responsible companies do recall, so can't really say it is a bad thing, but since I don't really like Lexus, yes, I should say Lexus' quality is slowly fading away and it will be gone eventually
BMW and Mercedes-Benz all the way

This is what happens when companies expand at the rate that Lexus has been going. At least they're issuing recalls, which is a good thing in a sense.

What can I say, man? Toyota can not win this battle. BMW and Mercedes-Benz are like giant dinosaurs and Lexus is like a little puppy

I think you will see a renewed devotion to quality at Mercedes-Benz and BMW so that they will once again be at the top of the list for quality in order to justify their price premiums.

When you're spending anywhere from $40k-170k on a car, you would expect to see some quality interiors somewhere along the line. Unfortantely, very few MB models were impressive on the inside. On the other hand, BMW was nailing it with most of their models on the inside and out. Very impressive. The Bangle-era is a good thing. Although Lexus and Infiniti have increased sales in the recent years, they shouldn't get ahead of themselves by over-producing and sacrificing their quality for quanity. |

suprised at some of the anti Japanese comments on the thread.
Lexus and Toyota are greatly responsible for the overall improvemnet of cars, not just in their own lineup but also putting the european automakers on notice for fproducing better cars. Competition is a good thing... Otherwise, we'd still be driving called luxury cars thet wouldn't last past 60K miles... Having said that, My wifes RX330 was in the shop earlier this week and we had an IS250AWD for a loaner to tool around for a day. My impressions - Good, solid little car with good handling and decent pickup. My only complaint was: Interior was very tight. I'm not a tall guy - 5'10" and my head was scraping the headliner. Even setting the seat back and low, the driving posiiton seemed cramped and claustriphobic (Sp?)
