Got a gift...Need your opinion!

so my best friend is in love with harry potter, the books as well as the movies...now that christmas is coming along, i had to get her a gift...i was in a shopping center and saw a memoriblia store and went inside...i found an autographed picture of the HP cast (3 main kids) and so i bought it...now heres where i need your help..i have 2 ways in which i can give it to her this friday:

1.) Give it to her before class starts, which is when everyone exchanges presents and have her be happy all day.

or

2.) Give her something crappy before school starts and make her believe thats the real gift until afterschool then give her the picture.

what do you guys think?

before. After being disappointed, she's not going to get the same wow factor when you give her the real present.

no. i think she would be more surprised, and would appriciate it more.

def 2 so that u can see her excitement "fresh" lol rather than having to wait to talk to her about it hours later, excitement will have died down more. Plus its nice to fool her like that. I'd do it after, better timing IMO. plus that way u lower her expectation much much more so when she recieves the real gift she will be much more ecstatic. btw, i'm a psych major lol

just make sure u slowly build up again before giving her the real present. so that way its just like like "o there's one more thing, here" lol. play with building it up a little and i assure u she'll love it, and U!
