Looks like the SMG with stick instead. What is it?
And how did you get that engine?
Looks like the 321 hp version.

SMG with stick? Not sure what that means.

Mine is an SMG. I got it through regular purchase.

I'm from The Netherlands. Imported this car personally from the motherland.

Roadmax: still can't believe a company like Dinan would make a hinged strutbar.

You better believe it, and

I personally would not replace with any other brand, and there is a rear as well!

But they don't function with a hinge like that. Well, they do half of the job by keeping the distance between the shock towers equal, but don't prevent tower flex. With a hinge if one flexes, so will the other. Aka allow parallelogramming.

I guess it looks better than most solid ones that are pure function over form.

I meant the shifter knob looked like it was from a manual but the base looked like SMG. I've not seen these before. I really like that engine. I'd be the envy of all e36's around where I'm from with it.

I see. That funny though as it doesn't look like any e36 manual knob. Matter of fact, BMW -unfortunetely- didn't design a special SMG gearknob, like for the E46 and later. It's identical to e39/e38 automatic knob, the only unique element is the alu part instead of wood.
I wished it was lit like the manual M knobs.

Love the engine as well. Always been my dream car. It's just as tame around town as my 328i, but much nicer sound and throttle response. Of course when you floor it, it jusr flies off.

I don't know if it's the mechanical lifters, but there is a very mechanical sound going on. It simply feels special driving it.

I think it's also visually one of the nicer M engines with those exposed velocity stacks as well as the double vanos unit.

BMW made a mistake in not importing the real M3 engine with the E36. I got the privilege to enjoy a nice ride around the surrounding areas of the Nurburgring and I will say it was a blast. The S52 doesn't hold a flame up to the S50B32 and I owned 2 E36 M3s myself. If it had the real engine I doubt I would have wanted to sell ever sell it.

Enjoy a few more pics of MParallel 's beutiful E36 M3 Cab

Yeah, the car I found was a consignment, so that added a few bucks. And saw a techno a month ago; it is one of those colors that grow on you - nice.

Would have loved to have one.
S38B38 (euro M5 motor) was released a few years before IIRC. US M5 buyers also got screwed though, only being able to get the mildly detuned S38B36.
This is true but the S38 didn't rev as high as the S50B32 though.
