In my experience, most of the time yes. There have been a couple of times that the ip address stayed the same. I use http://www.no-ip.com.

It depends on how long your ISP has the IP lease set to. A lot of ISPs it is more than a day to a week. If so you would have to leave it off for that time until your lease expires and your IP is assigned to someone else. During part of this period you also enter into an auto renew period where, if connected, you will automatically renew your lease and start all over.


If they lease is assigned based on MAC address adding a router or connecting with a different PC should change your IP.

Some ISPs will also automatically release you when you send the request as well. If I remember correctly the commands are ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew.

My bro got banned from a site and needs to make another account. He can sign up but if they run our ip it will show up again.

not really sure but i think it depends if your ip is static or dynamic... everytime i restart my reciever on dsl it changes but everytime i restart my reciever on cable it remains the same--just from personal exp
