Chicken was my favorite back in college but I haven't had it once since I graduated

I liked mine with lemon juice and would often add my own seasonings/vegetables.

try the nissin noodles that are directly from japan. if you eat the common nissin noodles made here you'll most likely not be dissapointed.

those are just much flavorful. although they might have more sodium in htem.

I'm surprised that nobody has posted this commercial yet (NSFW):

As for my list of favourites from my college days:

1. SamYang Ramen - Not a common choice...but has a good blend of artificial tasting flavours. Not very spicy at all...so it works well when you want to add extras like slices of spam, frozen wontons/gyozas/mandu and green onions. Try experimenting with less soup powder and adding a teaspoon of miso paste. Yum!

2. Shin Ramen - Nobody messes with the spicy mother. Ichiban you just got pwned.

3. Kimchi Ramen - Not as popular as Shin Ramen...but still spicy goodness. Kimchi--it will do wonders to your dating life. Booyah. Errr....why am I still single again???

4. Ja-pegetti - Black bean noodles made in 5 minutes at home. Non-soup based. Not spicy at all and if you're only eating soup based ramen...it gets old fast. This one mixes it up. This way you can eat ramen 7 days a week without getting bored. Too bad your liver will kill you for it.

5. Ichiban - The supermarket original. This is the one to break out if your non-Asian room-mate/girlfriend/boyfriend is staying for dinner. Mom approved.

Favourite addings/toppings:

1. Egg
2. Green onion
3. Kimchi
4. Miso paste
5. Frozen wontons/gyoza/mandu
6. Spam Lite (Lite cuz...it's more healthy yo!)

LOL. Had fun writing this...reminds me of the good old days...jeez I ate a lot of ramen back then.
