Cloverfield - Your rating out of 10
There's another topic going on about this movie, and the general consensus seems to be subpar. I just want to see how good/bad it is specifically. Movie tickets aren't cheap, and I don't want to waste my money ya know.

It was good enough to keep you entertained. You have to keep in mind that this movie is coming from the same guy that does Lost. Also the movie is played out from the stand point, as if you were watching the video from a found camera.

Hate all you want, but its these type of threads that will keep people going to see it. Apparently all this talk means that it truly was a good movie.
When was the last time you saw this many people talking about a film, regardless if they all say they think it sucked? Yeah, I gave it an 8.

Seriously it wasn't that bad. I went in with REALLY low expectations though and only went because other people wanted to. Sure the ending was kind of lame but could YOU think up a better ending? I doubt it. When you actually think about it while you might not like the ending, there was no better ending to be had. The thing gets killed? That would be stereotypical and lame. All the people die, that's done all the time too. Also I greatly disagree about it being filmed badly, they did very well.

I admit to liking their marketing techniques. Anyone remember a ways back when it was like a 10 second teaser. That was pretty interesting.

If you read up on their viral marketing and understand the backstory behind it, or have kept up with it in recent months, you may find it very interesting. I didn't (read it up afterward), but I still enjoyed it because I went in knowing what to expect.
It's a brief look into history, and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. I gave it an 8.

felt nauseated half the time in the movies... its blair witch project meets godzilla. Its JJ Abram he likes to leave people with more questions then answers... but for a movie this style doesn't really work... for a tv show like LOST yes. I rated it 6/10

Wasn't it CONVENIENT that this camera had night vision capabilities for when they were in the tunnel and something attacked that chick's shoulder????
I heard while waiting that the monster was supposed to be CTHULU, from the old H.P. Lovecraft books, so I was getting excited. There are times when it would be "helpful" to be able to breathe out of my ears |
