McLaren driver ran the stop sign causing skateboarder to slam on his brakes while in the crosswalk. Case closed, Mclaren driver at fault. Skateboarder is still a dick for smashing the windshield.

Yup, this new angle definitely shows the driver being at fault. I also don't think the kid would have done that had it not been all those people standing around. Little punk thought it would be cool to smash the window in front of all those people.
If they did catch the kid he'll probably spend a couple of hours in jail, a fine and likely some class to learn how to deal with these kinds of issues in the future. Oh and I'm sure it's going to cost either the kid or his parents (if he's underage) some pretty coin to replace that windshield. |

So...how hard to you think it would be for the manufactures of these damn phones to just stop recording when it's vertical? Can't be rocket science here.
As for the recently posted 2nd film...a-hole driver came closer to the skater than I actually thought, looked damn near hitting him. No idea why the driver hit the horn like a douche. Got what he had coming to him...I'm cool with it.

Skate boarder had plenty of time to slow down or turn although the driver is clearly at fault. Skate boarder saw the situation it looked like and was under the impression he'd stop for him I guess. If he honked at me too, after almost hitting me, I'd be pissed as well.

That angle changes my opinion in favor of the driver....he is wrong for running the stop sign, but the skater really did have plenty of time to stop...pissed off for sure, but he should not have smashed the windshield. It really should not have been a near miss... .more discourtesy from the driver.

Like I said, the driver was the first in the wrong--he didn't almost hit the kid as the kid could have stopped. He cut the kid off which is not cool at all but that does not warrant a window getting smashed. I agree the driver is a moron but the kid was entering the intersection at a high speed and saw the car not stopping. Kid has right of way but does not have right to smash window.

Wow...some nice investigative work there.
Loved his comment about the vertical recording at the end.

I mean technically you're right, but there's probably a greater chance that he's a 1%er by virtue of the car he's driving (in a hypothetical situation where this was real and wasn't staged, that is).
Probability of being a 1%er picking someone randomly off the street, by definition, is 1%. Probability of being a 1%er if you pick a random McLaren driver is maybe like 50-60% (I'm pulling these numbers out of my ass but you get the point). The median income of a Porsche 911 driver is $380,000/year, for example, which is basically right at the 1% mark. So among Porsche 911 drivers the probability of being a 1%er is 50%, by definition. |
