Anyone live by the time zone border?

Ive always wondered what it would be like. PITA? I would like to live on the west side for that extra hour of daylight during the evening!

If talking about two cities close together, you want to live on the east side for the extra hour of daylight in the afternoon (going by clock time).

From a quick search - sunset for today in Cincinnati (Eastern Time Zone) - 8:32. Sunset for today in Nashville 7:37 (Central), or Chattanooga, TN (where I used to live and Eastern) - 8:29

Part of the reason I decided not to move to Nashville (work is fine with it) is most of my sales territory is on Eastern and don't want to work on a 7-4 schedule when I live in Central, then the earlier sunset doesn't help, but there were other reasons also.

Not really close enough for it to have any effect on my day-to-day routine, but growing up in NW Ohio I had lots of athletic events in Ft. Wayne, IN. We always had to double-check our travel times because prior to 2006 that part of Indiana didn't observe DST the same way Ohio did. It was only a 45 min drive, but you'd have to leave 2hrs early.

no, but I once walked into a library that was in two different countries. I went back and forth over the line without a passport, which was pretty cool.

Damn you are a rebel. You practically started a war. It's the library so it would be a very quite one.

Back when McDonalds breakfast was a morning only thing, I always wanted to live on a time zone border.

We're 45 minutes from Eastern time. That means very early sunrises (which sucks because our bedroom windows face east), and fairly early sunsets. I used to love the late sundowns in Germany. Still lots of light in the sky at 10PM in the summer.
