That's the game. I've had a few dealers tell me loaners are basic or all loaded up for exactly what you describe - entice folks to switch. I assume, although could be wrong, there's some kind of logic or algorithm at play determining when you get something really nice. Would make sense if, for instance, they know your car is about done w warranty you've spent $X typically on cars and like SUVs.

Nice to have loaded loaner cars. But I usually only expects something like a base 320i or something.
Last time I brought my X3 into service, got an X1 xDrive28i with Premium package, technology and driver assistance plus. Pretty nice.

My dealer usually has them all lined up and lets me pick which one I want. If it mattered to me, I could make an earlier appointment to get a better car.

Mine too. Just schedule-wise I'm always there early so I can take what I want. My dealer is also a tricky fellow, whenever I mention I'm thinking of something new to him that's magically my loaner. GF has a GT right now bc I mentioned to him in passing that it may be a good next car for her.

Had a really nicely loaded 328xi when I was getting my rotors done last week. Kept it for the whole weekend...........

Loved the full-LED headlights on it...

A "smart" dealer will NEVER put a "stripper"(car model) into service as a loaner. Why ? Because the sales dept will never be able to sell a used/loaner car. You always option the cars with features people want to own/have.

Seriously, my dealer has X5 3.5 and 528s only and not one with an M Sport package. If I get offer one more 528 I'm going to scream. Last time I grabbed an X5 3.5 Premium but they had 4 white over tan ones -- the thing screamed "Soccer Mom".

What cars have you guys he in service to get given such decent loaners!

My local service centre is a different place to the sales - a few miles away in fact - I think this means it's always full of shit. I often get a 118d 3 door with msport options and it sucks balls. Once I got a 520d msport tourer and felt a little honoured - until I accelerated hard and realised the 20d just isn't big enough for the big 5tourers (IMO)

My brother put his 2010 X1 28d in for service and got given a brand new 4 miles on the clock 530GT msport #jealous

Seeing that you are also in Denver, do you go to Schomp or Murray?

I'm closer to Schomp so I usually go there. I've been to Murray, but didn't car for their staff (sales in particular).
