Top two have grown in normal, however the bottom two were angled towards the adjacent tooth. Regular dentist was not able to carry out the removal of the bottom two, so I was referred to a specialist. Local anesthesia was administered, followed by laughing gas. The top two teeth were removed very easily and I felt them come out as he pulled it. Zero pain associated with the removal. For the bottom two I was already feeling the effects of the laughing gas and was in and out of consciousness. Due to the angle they were growing in, dentist had to crack the tooth and make an incision in the gums in order to remove the roots properly. So over all I had zero pain during the procedure. Very, very minor swelling, not even noticeable. I even ended up going partying that same night. Swelling will differ from person to person. My friend's head looked like a basketball, it was hilarious! It is very important to keep the wounds clean. Use the solution the way they describe it. You want to avoid the possibility of infection. Clean the wounds every time after you eat! Another thing that should be of bigger concern is that you talk to the dentist in regards to the possibility of nerve damage in the jaw line. They will likely make you sign a waiver releasing them of any liability if nerve damage was to happen. This is why it is important that you discuss the exact procedure the dentist is to take to ensure no nerve damage can occur. You don't want to have a numb jaw for the rest of your life. Good luck. I had my wisdom teeth removed during summer vacation between college school years. I was stuck on the sofa for about a week. If you're into gaming of any kind, it is a good time to catch up. Or maybe some netflix.

Oh no..make sure they give you a good supply of Norco's..yeah and tell them them you need some refills as well. And if you don't have much pain, don't take them but make sure to get the refills.

Pfft. Not even impacted... you'll be fine.
As long as you don't get anally violated while under or perhaps get the AIDS from dirty equipment. Yeah... you'll be fine. I am sure of it.

Nerve damage, and/or TMJ complications. You have a lot of audio sensory network right next to where the mandible meets the maxilla (where your jaw is hinged). I have no way to know if its the jaw or a nerve causing the T. It been almost a year with no relief, the damage is likely permanent (unless a miracle happens... I pray.)

I had all 4 of mine removed at the same time. Do you know if the doctor plans to suture the holes closed or plans to just let your blood clot? I only ask since my doctor recommended letting my blood clot, and it was the worst decision ever. I ended up suffering from dry socket in two of the teeth, which lasted for 3 days. No medication could help, I couldn't sleep and I couldn't work. They gave me some clove mixture to stuff in the hole left by the extraction which provided some relief, but they advised to use it sparingly since that would prolong the healing process. Talk about a catch 22.
Lesson I'm saying is, taking 4 at once is a big undertaking. But from people I spoke with, having the holes sutured is key in terms of minimizing the potential pain you will experience. Dry socket is no joke! |

for me they just pulled them out.
I believe (and everyone is different) all 4 is best way to go... BUT, you could do 2 and then 2 at a later date Dentist said something about issues with over biting or something Quote:

Whole procedure took about 15-20 minutes for all 4!
I was having trouble feeling the back of my tongue towards the end of it, so I started gagging and feeling queezy. Full stomach didn't help lol I go to put my head up to catch my throat again and that was when he said "we're all done". Wow that was fast! Even with all the cavities I had while I was younger, I never experienced as much numbness in my mouth before. He must have given me about 10-15 shots total.... Now the healing process starts! |
