Passenger Pampering - Plushy Pillows
Have you ever been on a long journey and noticed an unusual sound coming from the rear area? Then it is likely that you have unwillingly retrofitted option 124 Noise Generating Passengers. Have you ever fallen asleep in a car and been rudely awoken by the sound of your own vertebrae insulting you in a foreign language? Luckily there is a DIY fix that can take care of both these problems. Welcome to the dark world of the travel pillow business, a dangerous combination of cut-throat and neck support. Competition is fierce and has led to some great innovations, along with some downright shaky concepts. In fact I had no idea how many different versions were available. By the time I'd finished reading I had compiled a shortlist of those pillows that looked most suitable for car travel, or just looked cool, or were simply too funny to ignore. So here it is then, the unofficial 2016 Travel Pillow Roundup. Feel free to stash a couple in the boot and let us know if they solved that annoying squeak coming from the back seat, or the one coming from your spine. Future versions could make this one a default choice. Not everybody wants a scarf to keep them warm, not everyone has the same neck. AirComfy pillow https://www.amazon.com/AirComfy-Trav...+travel+pillow Unassuming but has its strengths, doubles up as lumbar support and can attach to headrests. Inflatables in general allow for adjustment of the support via deflation. Cabeau travel pillows https://www.amazon.com/Cabeau-Evolut...olution+pillow Cabeau have a wide range of travel pillows, and some of them do look good, like the example above. All of them look pretty expensive. Some of them cost a bomb. Check their website to get an idea of what's on offer. FLEXi 4-in-1 Convertible travel pillow https://www.amazon.com/FLEXi-Convert.../dp/B015562LO6 A lot of pillow positions for the price and size, some rave reviews but then again most of the items here have found more than one fan. Popularity keeps the price comparatively high. Kuhi has a range of different products that all look like quality products but they are far from the cheapest. Inflatable material not the most appreciated but a housing is sold separately that adds softness, washability and air bubbles or similar and is said to increase comfort significantly, and the total price some. Comfy Commuter travel pillows https://www.amazon.com/Comfy-Commute.../dp/B00JMVYEPA Comfy Commuter also have a range of pillows but the general design is a head surround with some neck and side support. In pictures it looks as comfy as it gets, and has earned a few impressive reviews, including one from a doctor of bonecareology. Not entirely sure this thing wouldn't be a problem in case of accident. Was called ReNeck NextGen when I first stumbled upon it. One of those where the pictures make a strong case on their own, it just looks right. And slightly silly at the same time, which is a shame. Mixed reviews but funky enough to make the list. Doesn't sound as sophisticated as some of the products above but could work a treat in the car. Plus you can't lose it with those colors. Let's hope the puncture gets fixed.
