Well, I was trying not to be a thread derailleur, because this could become a long chain of puns.

Did he PM you to tell us that because he was afraid his wife would see his extra marital vernacular intercourse?

How do you like them compared to flats? You running a WTB saddle?

Honestly - I am much more of a flat pedal kind of guy.

Five Tens and flat pedals never gave me any issue.

Local Bike Shop kid was telling me that he was a flat person too. Then, one day while he was riding with Brian Lopes, Lopes told him that the next thing he needed to do to be fast was to clip in. He clipped in and I gave in as well.

I guess I was too accustomed to putting out a foot moto style or tripoding down steep nasty loose terrain to ever really take a digger with flats but now clipped in it's a different story. I like to believe that it is making me a better rider because I cannot put feet out.

Took me awhile to embrace being clipped in, now I can't imagine any other way. I went from shimano to crank bros and like the egg beaters a lot more. I run candy so a small platform. Much better in spring time mud than SPD.

Be 1 with the bike to be fast.

I started life being clipped in to mtbs. I never worried about hitting jumps before, but with a little extra time under my belt, i'm worried about being able to bail if i need to. So i switched from SPD (for life) to Time, to the pictured CB mallets. I hit some slick stuff with the back end while peddling though a turn and my foot popped out and caught myself before going down. So i think i may have found the happy medium.

Headed to Santos tomorrow morning. Going solo because my friend suck. So i'm just gong to be chill and get familiar with the place. They have a lot of free riding stuff there, drops, jumps, pump sections, etc...

Also that bimmette and I have startlingly similar taste in shoes. Haha. And that I cannot take pictures to save my life. Behind the reflective stripes, it does say "Todd".

Did not "picture" jtodd_fl as one who has tattoos nor very silky smooth legs.

I am a man of contradictions. Also, legs are only silky from dress sock lines down. 20 plus years of dress socks will do that

Would love a nomad. Although I am really liking the look of the new slash 29er. Just as good on the downs but I imagine will climb a bit better.

I'm another person on flats and 5.10s.

I use speedplays on the road bike but I've not been tempted to try clips on the mtb yet. I enjoy exploring and hiking up sections which is much easier without clips stuck under my feet
