New car prices have been out of control for quite some time. Outside of a boring shitbox econobox, 99% of new cars cost more than what most people make in a year.
What would I spend $70k on? A C7Z, Continental GT, F-Type R, late model turbo Porsche (Not Macan), perhaps a new CTS or ATS-V or M5 to name a few off the top of my head. Lots of cars for well under $70k that I'd look at first, though. |

He asked what I would spend $70k on. I told him. I'm comparing cars I like & would consider buying vs other cars I would consider. Want new vs new? Then specify. So new vs new out of these cars, I would take the QV if I HAD to buy one. Otherwise, no thanks to all 3 at that price.

yeah ok, it would indeed be too much to ask on bimmerpost for members to actually understand the context of the discussion....
Point probably is that no new car price is worth it to you... But that is in no means helping or relevant to this discussion.

I like it! reliability is the issue and dealer network depending in your area. I've been set on a GTR but i wouldn't mind checking this one out.
If you build it on their website it can get to 80k with carbon ceramics and sparco seats at 75k it comes with everything you would want standard! Here is one local to me! http://www.alfaromeooffredericksburg...9d046586b8.htm |

This car is the real successor to the E90.
Aside from the shoddy interior and reliability this seems like one hell of a car. Nice to lease that's all. |

Side note, their US site still shows the 2015 4C - not a good look!

Saw one in Jacksonville a few weeks ago. It was a red Quadrifoglio cruising on the highway. Stayed beside it for a bit , very drool-worthy. It also just won a Car & Driver comparison test versus M3, C63, and ATS-V.
I'm more interested in the regular model with the 2.0 turbo. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the outgoing F30 and upcoming G20. I'm a little worried it may suffer from the same issues as the ATS though - a fantastic drive but not so good to live with on a daily basis. (interior ergonomics, economy etc.) |

I would definitely give this car a look...Alfa has the ability to really gain some attention to US with a blank slate as most ppl don't remember them and or know what they are. I remember living in Europe, most ppl looked Alfas as the whatever Italian car so the Giulia is something of a bold move... nonetheless I would really be hesitant about build quality in an Italian car...built in a new factory....with an entirely new platform...the upside is that is doesn't seem to have any shared parts from FCA like Maserati does...

I'm a bit like a moth to a flame when it comes to Alfa, had two 156's which I loved. A 159 which was ok and ate it's own engine (but looked gorgeous), a Giulietta QV (240HP) which was ok I suppose.
You could get some very good deals on Alfa's of recent years. The prices of the new Giulia's (QV aside) are crazy. For the 200HP 2.0 Turbo it's either £30.5K or £299.00 a month and 9K deposit (that's about the best I've seen so far). You can get a 330i for the same money or £300.00 a month / 4K deposit, you can get a 340i for 3K more. On top of that, they don't have the same standings / reputation as BMW. They have massive holes in their engine ranges, it's either a 200hp petrol or 150HP / 180HP diesel then the next up is 500+hp (not sure where the 280 is in EMEA).. They may drive just as well, some might think they look better and I do have a soft spot for Alfa but I couldn't personally justify the cost for what is essentially a lesser powered car.
