BMW X6 Vs. Cayenne GTS
i know pricing on the x6 hasn't been released but a good price has been set on the new porsche cayenne gts which imo looks better then the turbo. taken from car and driver "There are now four of them. The base Cayenne, with a 290-hp V-6, goes for $44,295. Sporting an updated 385-hp V-8, the Cayenne S starts at $58,795. The monster Cayenne Turbo, with a 500-hp twin-turbo V-8, checks in at an eye-crossing $94,595. That left one slot for a fourth model, the $70,195, 405-hp GTS you see here, which goes on sale in February."
the new gts will also have a 6 speed manual available for those manual lovers. . the current x5 with few options stacks up to the new gts. now im not comparing engines right here with the x6 4.4L tt v8 (which should be really compared to the cayanne turbo if anything) but the car looks pretty damn good. very sport and the price is not that bad compared to other suvs. what do you guys think? |

Don't forget that with Porsches, absolutely everything you can imagine is optional, and comes at a steep price. These base prices mean almost nothing unless you factor in common options such as leather, navigation, premium package etc...

The GTS is going to be a hit. I think maybe the upcoming x5 M can compete.

It's unfair to compare the X6 to the Cayenne. The X6 doesnt seem to have the utilitarian advantage that you see from the X5. If we see the V8TT in the X5, then we'll have a comparison, but until then, it's not a fair comparison to put a sports activity coupe against a car built on the same frame as a touareg.

That is a hideously cheap looking interior for a car of that price. In fact, I'm really dissapointed with the late Porsche interiors. I think there are much better designs. They're not bad persay, just not good enough.

I'll just start with the 911Turbo. It was obviously made with high quality materials, and everything felt solid (especially the seats and shifter), but I thought that it looked waaay too overcrowded with buttons, and the design looked outdated or something. I personally don't like Porsche steering wheels - too thin and I don't like the shape. Basically, I'm mostly annoyed by the design than the materials. Btw, there was a Porsche Design Cayman S there...OMFG amazing!!!

You're not wrong there. Plus just look at that stupid steering wheel, hate the shape of it!

Oh I love Ferrari interiors. They were more baren than I was expecting, but nonetheless simultaneously exceeded my expectations when I sat in an F430. Even the 360 (don't know why I'm saying "even") is amazing looking on the inside. I love driver oriented interiors, but I think that Porsche interiors are just not for me. Something about em. Maybe they're overwhelming or something. I guess I'd call it that X-Factor.

GTS is ..has anyone gone to the build version of the site and listened to the engine sound...wow. Does it come standard with nav? I think that would be a fun SUV to get?...but agree that the steering wheels looks cheap!

the cayenne may not be one of the best looking SAV/SUVs around, but it's one of the best performing ones.
i know that i will get the "who gets an SUV for performance" comment . well lets just say that what if your whole garage was filled with "sports" cars and you needed a daily driver while still having that power under your right foot; the cayenne TURBO would be perfect. GTS is great too. |

I personally love the GTS! But isn't manual + SUV kind of an oxymoron? since its such a heavy car and couldn't be that sporty anyways? But I guess you guys are the real enthusiasts!
