There's a lot of GT40 DNA in there. Considering that the bloodline goes back fifty years, you'd expect to see a few modern touches.

Exactly, what an amazing car with a crappy automatic transmission and a v6 (hahahhaha) . I wish the new FGT had modern touches like self driving and an electric drive train to completely kill the experience.

While my soul echos each and every word you wrote, these things are now required on a modern supercar. It would be really hard to sell a manual halo car that's slower to 60 than a Ford Focus RS. To get these insanely fast speeds you have to let the computers do the shifting as our lame human bodies just can't compete anymore.

As for the V6 comment, the Jaguar XJ220 was a TTV6 and it remains one of the fastest cars ever. If you can keep the weight down, there's no need for a lumbering V8.

Saw this car in Monterey at the Exotics on Cannery Row show and it is a stunning car, looks very sexy in person. It was also with a baby blue colored FGT. I love the lines and everything Ford did with the new GT, seems like an awesome car. I snapped some pics, but they are on my other memory card. Couple on my IG, JFIT728
