I've bought a lot of crap from them over the years with no real issues....until now...
Parts they list as correct were not. I returned said parts through their site on the return label they had me print out & use. Both parts in same box with return slips. They claimed they cannot find one of the parts. Not my fault or problem. Here we are almost a month later and no refund. Just blatant ahole email replies or ignored completely. Then they get surprised I filed a PayPal claim. So they can screw off at this point. Also filed a dispute w/my credit card. They lost a customer over a whole $25. What a bunch of idiots. |

I had a similar issue with the windshield wipers. They sent the wrong ones that wouldn't fit and when I was going through their return menu and selecting the options, it blocked me out from returning them cause somehow I selected that I've "used" them...

They screwed up 3 out of 4 orders for me and refused to refund one of them.
They'll never get another dime out of me.

Guess it is hit and miss even with a company you have used many times. I have ordered from them a handful of times in the past and everything was right.
A couple of months ago I needed a muffler which is not made anymore (even the dealer has no idea) for an older vehicle I have. I searched online and the first hits were from parts stores that said they had the OEM part so I ordered a muffler from a company and got one that didn't fit. I tried ordering from two other stores and the order got cancelled as they didn't have it. I searched on Rock auto and they had one and it was the right part.

I too used RockAuto for a long time, probably since they first came online and long before they were advertising like crazy. At first I loved them and had no issues. Then they started charging shipping based on their warehouse location a few items I order came out their Calif warehouse and the shipping costs were very high since they use UPS. I also had issues with their website showing one part and they shipping a different version of the part or different manufacturer. I never tried to return anything, but I have been getting the feeling they gotten too big and can not longer manage it.
There are some parts they have great pricing, but I been finding the same parts on advance auto for the same price after you include their shipping costs. |

Yep last month I could not find an aftermarket 335i cooling fan anywhere expect the dealer who wanted $720.00. I ordered two online, one from amazon, and one from another place only to have them cancel the orders because no one actually had the fan in stock.
So I knew I would not get it quickly but I ordered one from Rock Auto and got one for $350.00 in less than a week. Hit or miss I guess. |
