Originally I was not considering dipping the car, but maybe I should since it's cheaper & I would do it myself on my own time. However, I do not want a matte finish.
Should I stick with having the car wrapped? If I dipped it, I would just order the DIY kit off the site for a few hundred. What about the Autoflex coating instead? If anyone here has dipped or applied Autoflex to a car please chime in. I've dipped many wheels & other small parts, but never body panels. Last edited by Never_Enough; 01-25-2018 at 09:23 AM.. |

I've never done a full car, but have done a few sets of wheels and dip does not have to be a matte finish. There are several topcoat products available now to get a gloss, pearl, or even metallic finish with plastidip. Check out the youtube channel for dipyourcar.com they have some beautiful cars on there and they all look amazing, you would never guess that it's plastidip

We dipped my friends STI in matte black plastic dip. It looks okay and lasted for about two years until we finally got sick of the color and brought it back to the original white underneath. Personally I would go with wrap mainly because of the color choices and the long lasting color.
