Any wine experts here?
I am looking to buy a $150-250 bottle of semi-sweet red wine. Any recommendations for French or Italian or wines from other countries?
I don't drink wine, ordering as a gift and all I know is the recipient likes semi-sweet red wine. Thanks guys. |

I'd be amazed if there were any semi-sweet reds that actually cost that much.
I don't drink that style, hence my ignorance. |

I’ve never paid anywhere close to that for a bottle of red wine, in fact, one of our favorite semi-sweet reds was about €6 a bottle. http://www.weingut-kroth.de/ http://www.weingut-kroth.de/english-version/ http://www.weingut-kroth.de/app/down...8_1_180618.pdf The Rotweine is what you’re looking for, order a case and you’ll still be under your budget. Cheers! |

A decent bottle of vintage Port would fit your budget and flavor profile.

Thanks all for your advice on this. I don't think through this stuff too hard and the recipient has had me taste wine before, and it all tasted the same. She also told me that more $$$ doesn't necessarily mean it tastes better but I don't want to show up with grocery store wine for the occasion.
I went ahead and bought a 2012 Sassicaia that EdM5 recommended. $209. Thanks again. |
