I like I like!

I will stick to my good looking, dependable and cheap Skagen watches though. They are super light so I can't even tell it's on ym arm which is what I prefer

panerai do hold their value, they are great watches as well. I personally like watches w/ a large case, swiss movement and perfer chronographs

Also, don't forget Citizen for nice watches on a budget. They have several different varieties of eco-drive which is very cool as well.

Also check out "watchuseek" forums. it's full of information on watches from cheap Invicta to Elite Patek Phillippe...

I hadn't really even considered a Citizen prior to a few months ago. I had them pegged as another cheapo chinese brand with little to offer. Turns out I was wrong and they are making some really nice watches for not much money.

I picked up a Citizen caliber 9000. It features a minute repeater of sorts and a perpetual calender. It never needs batteries, and is a very accurate watch.

I'm also a fan of casio G-Shocks. They are large and clunky, but indestructible and have a cool factor all their own.

Either of these watches are going to be long wearing and look good without the pompous ass factor or looking like you are trying too hard to impress someone...

Nothing fancy but they look good and tell the time. Save the $5-10k watches for dinner out or a business meeting.
