I used to work as the "communicator" in the box at the apex of Turn 8 at Laguna Seca (yes, the corkscrew), calling safety conditions for race control on a dedicated landline. It was amazing to see the Dorna guys come screaming at full speed in the Safety Cars.

When Rossi passed Casey Stoner on the dirt in 2008, I calmly keyed my mic and said, "Control, turn 8. 46 off and on." My headset blew up with a room full of people screaming and all I heard was, "OH YEAH, that was off and on!"

they used the M4 exhaust note as wobble for the track. impressive sound engineering skills.
