Orient Mako or Ray

Both models get good reviews. However. For budget friendly dive watches, they fly under the rader. The Mako USA 2, white dial caught my eye. Reviews have it better than the most talked about Seiko SKX009/007. It just doesn’t have the history of the SKX models.

I don’t know. I just saw them compared to the SKX, and they got decent reviews. If I were to purchase one, I then would do more research on the specifics. Most reviews still have the SKX as the more popular, better beater watch.

I always thought the difference was the faces, not the movements.

According to stats, they are the basically same watch a with different hands and faces. A key for me, if i were buying one, is the larger font on the Ray's bexel and well as lume on the second hand *(Mako doesn't have a lumed second hand)

Here's a vid showing them side by side, including a lume comparison a minute later.
