The 911 sounded subpar at best unfortunately.

That's what I would do. I'm still surprised though that the stock exhaust sounds so...harmless...for lack of a better term.

Well it's just an NA 6. Think of how harmless the 2JZ-GE sounds or maybe the new 328. & the car was not under a load. I took a ride in a Carrera Cab like the one you are referring to the other day & they sound pretty good for a NA sports car. The Cayenne's though....

Porsche does a good job of marketing. I always like their flash mini-sites...good images and music...usually very slick.

I dunno if its the geometry of the flat engine layout, but the 911 and cayman and boxter for that matter are all quiet cars for what they are (even with aftermarket exhausts)

The 911 in the driveway was at a serious disadvantage. Not only wasn't it a 911S, but it didn't even have the optional sports exhaust. It was as tame as a 911 gets.
