Question for the Ladies: Do sport seat bolsters bother you?
TL;DR: My girlfriend doesn't like the seats in the MK VII GTI because the bolsters are aggressive. Do other women feel the same?
Longer version: She test drove a new 2019 GTI and immediately said she didn't like how the side bolsters make her feel trapped inside the seat. Her friend (also female) test drove one last year and said the same thing about the bolsters. Trying to get an understanding if other ladies feel the same way? Will the bolsters break in? She is 5'7", 130lbs. |

My wife loved the bolstering her her MSport BMWs and has now moved to a 2016 GTI - "feels perfect" she says. They do soften over time and some car models have built in adjustment for them.

How can you tell when a woman has an orgasm?
Who cares. Kidding, I suspect that sport seat bolsters don't appeal to lots of folks regardless of sex or gender. |

Raise the seat. My wife keeps the pax seat in my Mk7 GTI higher and doesn't seem to mind. I gather it's more about getting in and out than just sitting in it. Oddly she kept the seats in my M Coupe as low as they'd go and that was much more bolstered.

From reading many, many posts about seats the only conclusion I can draw is that folks are very different and some like standard seats, some like sport seats, some like multifunction seats and some like luxury seats. And many hate many of the seats.
So I doubt it is a sexual identity thing. But if there is one message that comes through to me it is that before purchasing a BMW, sit in it! |

I love the adjustable bolsters in my X5. I never liked the Highlander seats because they felt too large for me. I keep my bolsters at maximum and really like them.
I am a woman, BTW. |

It's a tiny car. I recommend having her drive a 2019 x3 m40i and have her provide feedback about those seats.

I agree that it is subjective. I love the side bolsters and was disappointed with the seats in the F86 partly because the bolsters are smaller and don't hug you in as tight as the seats in the F16. I liked feeling held in place going around a nice twisty without sliding in he seat. Maybe it has more to do with if the lady is a driving enthusiast or just a passenger.

Wife loves the bolsters set to max. Not quite to the point where she refuses to ride in a car without proper seats, but almost at this point.

are those bolster active (like when you corner it expands one side to hold you) or passive, I found some dislike the active bolster ones
