When was Sunset Orange introduced?
I am curious. When was the color Sunset Orange introduced and for what model? And how close is the inside non-metallic base color to Colorado Orange from the BMW 2002?

2002's orange was a plain orange and as you ve said its not metallic.. Valencia Orange and Sunset Orange is closer.. Valencia Orange is the on 1M easy to remember.. Sunset Orange is pretty new like 3-4 years i guess.. personal point of view, VO looks like brown in sun.. SO shines like bright orange in sun cause it has bright metallic parts in it..

Inside the car in the engine bay and the trunk there is a base non-metallic orange that looks very close to the 2002 Colorado Orange. Thats the color I am referring to. Not the metallic itself.
I managed to take this picture that sort of represents all shades of Sunset Orange in a single picture (except the non-metallic part).

Looks like you're right. Found this press release at BMW: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...series-touring
Also it sort of explains my other question. Sunset Orange is a reference to the mid 70's colors so my thoughts of the inside orange beeing related to the 2002 wasn't completely off. BMW states in their press release: "Furthermore, with the available range of body colours, the BMW 3 Series demonstrates yet again a sense of tradition. New in the range is Sunset Orange – a contemporary interpretation of the colour which was popular in the 1970s and available for the first generation of the BMW 3 Series initially as Inca Orange and later as Phoenix Orange." Thanks :-)
