Thanks for your added contribution. That makes a lot of sense. I honestly wish we as consumers can change the culture of car purchases and retain some of our power. These depreciating assets are becoming less important to me when i realized how even the men who build them don’t value them. I’ve vowed to never purchase a new car again. So, essentially what gives these cars value is if BMW can sell them legally. Since they’ve sustained damage of some sort, the value diminishes even though us as layman think the cars are unchanged, sitting on a lot with dust on them. I bet most can be up and running for a nominal fee. Wild stuff.

This is the ADESA lot in Richmond, British Columbia. Pretty much all new cars get stored there. Used car auctions happen through them also. I have a friend who works for a dealership that often goes to the ADESA lot, he's seen these BMWs, and surprisingly a few of them do run. Of course he's not going out of his way to try every single one.

Sadly these will never see a day on the public roads.

I did talk to one of the delivery drivers, he said a few cars did make it off the lot but the owners were given a guaranteed replacement, he would tow the cars back in the absolute worst conditions anywhere from bald tires to dented panels lol. I asked the driver what was happening with them since he's been with one of the many delivery companies for 25 years. He doesn't know himself, but found it very stupid that they would bring the cars all the way from the Eastern Coast of Canada to the West Coast.

Personally, I really do want to go check out the cars myself. Just to see what's there.

I would be more than willing to shipped some of these cars to Taiwan and get them recovered.
