What on-board OEM intelligence is there in a 2007 Z4M to prevent theft? Does the horn sound? Is there an immobilizer system that prevents the engine from starting?

Fortunately not, yet a car parked right in front of mine was broken into not long ago. I always ensure that nothing is visible within the vehicle's cabin, specially given how I park next to the heroin shelters here in Vancouver.

There will always be people with bad intentions around, just try to diminish your risk exposure by using common sense. Even gloves might attract the eyes of someone desperate for another hit or drag...

The only thing worth stealing in my F90 is the Escort Max 360c that hangs on the windshield. Sometimes I try to remove it before exiting vehicle but it does become a hassle having to unplug it all the time or I forget about it. Fortunately no break ins yet (knock on wood).

CT inline-six is right. Acoustic glass and laminate tinted windows are virtually indestructible. Actually a concern for police and firefighters.
