Foam Gun - Does the Type of Soap Matter?

I have a Kärcher power washer that came with a foam gun or foam nozzle. It seems to work alright but definitely does not compare to specialized foam guns. Does it matter what sort of soap you use to create more foam? Or is it more on the foam gun to generate more foam.

Looking forward your response, thanks.

What matters is:
-pressure washer HP (gas is better than electric)
-% of soap vs water (I use approximately 30% using cheap soap)
-foam gun (their relatively inexpensive. I get new every few years). I have not seen Karchers but assume more for siding vs cars.
-soap used.

I suggest you order quick connect attachments as your constantly changing attachments. Also, only use the WHITE nozzle.

@RVAGuy thank you for the post.

Can you elaborate on the "white" nozzle, everything else made sense. Thanks.

Your pressure washer should have several nozzles which vary in intensity. I believe color coding is standard and white is ok for rinsing down the car. (I don't use the nozzles when applying soap foam as my soap dispenser has its own nozzle.)
I use the white nozzle for removing lose dirt prior to applying foam and then rinsing after I wash the car (two buckets etc).
If you use the pressure washer to rinse the car, don't use the red nozzle as this can damage/remove the paint as it's very harsh. Use the white nozzle (40 degrees) but still don't get closer than 24" to the paint.
Hope this helps.
