Polish Question for pros...
I have been using McGuires polish and compound for some time now. I recently polished my 2015 Q7 and it worked great. However when we did my son's Civic this weekend, the polish was a BITCH to get off after buffing. It was in the 60's and we were in the garage so no direct sunlight. Any idea why that would be??
Thanks, Mike (I also compounded and polished a section of my M5 to remove some small scratches, worked great LOL)

I thought perhaps that was the issue.....he had not waxed it in several years LOL. So would it be that the paint was very dirty and the polish mixed with dirt became sticky??? It looks much better now, but was not fun to do. I actually compounded just the drivers side door, and that was very hard to wipe off.....figured the polish would be easier but it was not, so we just polished the car and then waxed. Some areas of polish required using wax to get the polish off.

was it sticking, and leaving compoundd residue behind? if so, compound maybe be getting too hot.
or, the paint needs to be cleaned (Clayed) prior to the polishing. Next time, try and spritz a little water if the compoundd starts to dry out etc. |
