Wash/detail setup on carbon black with PPF
Hey how's it going guys. I'm new to g05 forum and super happy to be a part of it. I recently picked up my x5 40i carbon black exterior and know that any dark exterior cars are prone to those dreadful swirls (had a jet black 335i in 2010 ). I'm planning on doing a full PPF besides the roof next week and really want to maintain it/detail. I've always used the chemical guys when it came to cleaning/detailing my cars and just want to know your personal lineup/ setup for a carbon black fully ppf'd car. Thanks a bunch guys
Btw:: I know these topics are probably beaten to death many many times but I can't seem to find it on the forums so if there is a link to the forum for it that would be amazing thanks a bunch. -Steve |

I only did the front bumper, hood and 10" of there leading edge on the roof. The rest is coated, IMHO you cannot get PPF to be completely transparent and may not like the look of it on all the panels.

I just took delivery of my carbon black G05 also and had the dealer wax/polish it.. then immediately ceramic coated it myself.. biggest thing when doing PPF IMO is making sure your paint is as clean/swirl free as possible before applying..
once you apply, maintain wash as you normally would ... i too use CG stuff and have my M3 full front clip ppf'd and thats what we did.. polish the swirls out then applied PPF
