Ceramic Coat Question

Hi! I just got my X6 coated with ceramic on the interior (Merino Leather, Tartufo). As a complete newbie, was wondering what everyone recommends for the exterior? The vendor is showing me something from IGL Coatings Ecocoat Shield that will go over the PPF (XPEL) that I'm having my car wrapped with. Would be lifetime warranty at $1.3K for the full car.

Thoughts on that brand vs. others? Thanks!

I did some research and found Feynlab and Cquartz were the best. I just put feynlab ultra on my vehicle and cost was around $1200. The reason I chose these was because the companies seemed to have better processes around certifications and who could install.

I would stay away from ceramic pro as it seems gimmicky and after talking to a few folks, it seems anyone can install it. You literally sign up and they let you be a certified installer.

I've been doing these coatings for a while now and I've never heard of IGL. I certainly would not pay $1300 for something I've never heard of. If you want a high quality coating, look into Modesta or Cquartz Professional or Finest.

One other recommendation (if you are comfortable doing it yourself) is TEC580. While it doesn't last 2 full years (you can probably get 1 good year depending on application) an entire bottle is $45 and it is a high quality coating. Reviews online (check out Scott HD, attention 2 details, etc.) are very positive and it definitely hits above its weight-class. Easy to apply as well (just make sure to follow the instructions and remove when appropriate).

Most of the money though is in paint correction, etc. and if you don't feel comfortable with that then you will have to go external.
