Suggestion for protecting paint for long drive when PPF isnt available

I am going to have this car PPF'd but I dont have time before I have to drive it 2 hours for an event at BMW. I need something to protect the paint, has anyone ever been able to find the same sticky film that they have when a car comes from the factory? I wanted to put it on the gloss side skirts and the front bumper ... Hellllllllpppppppppppppp me lol

Buy some Track Armor or TracWrap on Amazon if you don't care how it looks while in transit. Peel off once there. Reapply for return.

Absolutely sick color scheme btw. Mint green?

I'm of no help here. Just stopping by to see if you are liking this color better than the fire orange you had earlier this year.

If you're really short on time, I know at least a couple of folks who brought along some blue painters tape for PDC deliveries to protect for their drive home.

I reached out the PPF installer that I've used many times. They mentioned the above suggestions but they also had someone use Road Warrior Plus which you can find from Amazon, eBay, etc. It's basically a thin film that you can roll on like paint. The downside is that you should do two coats and it has to dry.

Dont use Road Warrior plus, its essentially a clear plasti dip and it doesn't work as well as advertised (kind of hard to remove) track wrap is what I would recommend.

I was also curious about this, I'm picking the vehicle up at the performance center & driving it 500 miles home. Back in the day everyone would wrap their car with blue painters tape on the way to H2o/similar meets.

Track Armor/Tape looks touch & go. Just looking at Amazon reviews, some say the tape was loose when driving & rubbed marks into the clear coat. Another left a "permanent" line that they said couldn't be buffed out. Some the tape adhesive comes off on the bumper when removed...... blue painters tape may be the most gentle thing that works.

I'll be getting it ceramic coated/PPF when I return.

I bought Tracwrap for my 1,000 mile trip home next week from the Performance Center (on the recommendation of a reputable detail shop which PPFs a lot of BMWs). I can write a review once it gets home and I remove the film.

Painters tape can do the same thing with marks and lines, especially if it gets rained on. It buffs out though.

We got home with no marks or blemishes. I was short on time, so just wrapped the rocker panels, which get sandblasted with all the grit the tires kick up. A saving grace for us was a) fairly desolate 2-lane roads the first half of the trip, and b) 4am start the final day, which cut down amount of interstate traffic for the critical first few hours.
