I dated a girl who did basically the same thing but had a newer Benz SUV. She did the door dash thing for fun on her days off around the area she lived, but was an accountant full-time.

You never know someone's situation. I've met some extremely wealthy people who drive early 2000's Toyotas.

Back during covid lockdowns, I often considered this simply to have an excuse to get out of my house and drive

Doesn't have to be when they give anyone an 84 month loan these days.

Literally in Canada.

I live in the suburbs so I assume the people that do food delivery are doing it for fun since the pay from the food delivery companies is essentially panhandling with extra steps.

I had a few friends who did something like that for beer money. They made money but kind of figured they were earning money just to (literally) piss away. All while bring frugal as hell with their FTE wages.

Different strokes.

The one that gets me is when I commuted I would pass this decent apartment building that didnt have garages OR CARPORTS and whatnot and freaking M4s and whatnot were pulling out. Like, dude, I think you'd at least spend a bit more to keep the baby in a garage. When I was apartment dwelling I rented two of them (one of those older complexes where they were detached).

Around here it's usually well-off college students from other countries. They rent apartments off campus and lease/buy nice cars. Kind of crazy some of the cars I see on campus. Saw some girl who looked 14 step out of a Ferrari, seen a few i8s in the campus housing lot.

There's a condo area here by the lake that I see the same thing. All kinds of exotic cars parked outside all year round.
It's a beautiful area, but they don't have indoor parking.
