She's welcome anytime but prefers to be a passenger.

Gotta have a front plate in WA, and there’s no way I’m going to drill the bumper.

So fortunate we don’t have front plates but would go the route of the tow hook mount for the plate bracket if we had to too.

I dunno if he cares but when I had to put a front plate I got one of those frames that attaches to the middle plastic grill part.

EDIT: this is what I got+big metal washers so it's affixed tight on the plastic mesh thing, pretty good to avoid drilling one's front bumper, doesn't really block whatever intake is there as it's almost flush w that bottom part of the bumper. Only thing I'd advise which I forgot is to put something on the back/top part of the plate to stop it from rubbing against the bumper
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Presto, symmetrical and no drilled front bumper

I guess if she’s enjoying it, Upgrades do not need to be addressed in the office any more.

Do I let my wife drive our BMW? - yes.
My wife can drive MT, but prefers AT.

She helped with decision to get E91 12 years ago - for us, she then put fist 44K miles on it.
The only damage was minor curb rash.
I managed to dent rear and front bumpers.

She then recommended to get E70 - for me .
I put (light) clear coat scratched from various ski gear over last 9 years.
She does not like driver seat as car is too big for her.

She then asked for F25 for herself.
6 years later not a single scratch.
I drive this car to fill up (only)

The only BMW I got myself without her a "advice to purchase" was E90 last year.
She does not even consider getting into (E90) driver seat.

But, I feel embarrassed when she tells people I don't let her drive it. What to do?

What to do?
The is nothing you can do, except maybe get some car care supplies

I didn't have an issue until she took it out one day and both right side wheels had massive curb damage. I was like "yeah I love you, but you're banned for life".

It is our only car, so obviously i have to let her drive it. And it's not a problem, she can drive. And as many state: it IS just a car, don't get to worried about it.

So it is not the driving itself, i trust that, but she really doesn't give a d*mn about cars. Banging her purse (with metal parts) against it: "whoopsie", let groceries sit on the bumper while she opens the trunk: "very convenient", swinging the door open without looking, that kind of behaviour.

And with my previous cars, i did not care for it to much as they were not as nice as my current car. But when we got this one, i said: "if you love me just a little bit, please consider my feelings towards keeping this car as good as possible, without scratches, dents or other issues". And it worked! She must have thought: 'ahw, he expresses his feelings, i have to give him some credit for that."

No, joking aside, i must say that she is now really taking the effort in trying to keep this car spotless. How sweet...

Honestly, letting a female drive one's BMW proves and shows nothing. When we closely examine the who gets what BS in a relationship, I can guarantee that most of the time women get all the material items, starting with the engagement ring. There is nothing wrong with not letting a wife drive the BMW, and there's nothing wrong with letting her. It's up to the guy who parted with 50k to decide.
BMWs span a wide range of cars. They are so common where I live that no one even gives a second thought. Of course if a large part of your monthly spending goes towards the car it makes sense to be super possessive. There are people with very expensive audio systems that don't allow anyone - including wives to handle them. 🤷, but just mainstream cars (unless you're talking about special BMWs) seems kinda extreme to me.

Very! The silver lining I suppose was using that incident as an excuse to get the nicer wheels (343m).

Wife is an equal contributor to our world economy. so... she gets whatever she wants. If she wants to drive, wash, trash, wreck, coddle, or otherwise simply enjoy the car... life is short, and she absolutely loves without end. dang. come on fellas!

She drives my car sometimes but prefers not to. No issues with her driving my car, although it does make me nervous

Don't have a wife but...

I just picked up my new to me m340 and I would let my husband drive it if he wanted to (he drives a Tesla) but I would be worried about him curbing the car since he already did that on his last two.

My wife usually takes my car for short errands around town, I dont give her permission because thats not how it works haha. My car came with 2 keys so if she needs to do something she can take whatever car she wants...I just wish she would put the steering wheel back in the position she found it in when shes done, it would make getting in a lot easier for me.

I however, do not drive her car unless we're on a road trip and switch off.

My wife drives a tank currently (2011 Toyota 4Runner). Her driving already scares me, so I'm going to lean against her driving my car normally. In the past, she'll drive us to home, and then I'll park it.
