Actually, he was lucky that the brakes of that 1974 Ferrari didn't malfunction in a fast part of the Monaco circuit. This could have ended bad for Leclerc and those who put him inside that (dangerous) car. Jacky Ickx consoled him after the mishap: "T'as rien" ("You have nothing = you're unharmed").

So it appears that the left brake rotor of that old F1 car had disintegrated prior to arrival at the La Rascasse corner, demoting Leclerc from pilot to passenger. An incident was inevitable. Scary, but luckily he got away unharmed.
